  • Something about PARIS....

    Paris 6

After all the "hassle and buzzle" of activities, I left for Paris, a place where time stood still with a certain charm.  I would like to be back and stay for a month or so....something about its charm...something about Paris

    . Paris 1

"Paris, Je t'amie .....Every morning you step out the door into the greatest standing set in the world. It's not just the places all of us tourists know — the Tuileries, the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter —

    Paris 27

it's the anonymous streets where the food in the humblest bistro makes your mouth water, where the women are always pert and smartly dressed, the men rueful and wise. Even a stranger would come up to me and freely compliment and asked for my hand in marriage with such settings....

    Paris 2

Everything and everyone merely awaits further transformation by the cinematographer's glamorizing light. Even a sad story does not seem quite so doleful in this context." someone quoted about Paris on a love story movie shot in Paris....

    Paris 31

It must be the air or water running through the city, a place which captivates...

hearts, film makers, artists, fashion shows, models, lovers and even food enthusiasts.

You couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower.  It was strategically placed that you could see its top from all angles in Paris no matter where you are....

    Paris 20

It rises 300 meters tall (984 ft) and was twice as high as the Washington Monument, at that time the tallest structure in the world. The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789

    Paris 22

Yes, something about Paris...the charms of many centuries were engraved and sculptured on walls, ceilings with gold trimmings, paintings...... and from all these but you must take a peep at the painting of Mona Lisa.

    Paris 14

The buildings, arts and  sculptures revealed the heavenly hosts crafted by the hands that were convicted with passion still lingered through centuries leaving a nostalgia feeling of someone's sacrificial love that worth keeping and embracing......

     Paris 15

It must be the air that intoxicated with the emotions of love and passion that created an exuberant city like Paris....yes, there is something about Paris...

    Paris 25

till these days, this place is filled with angelic voices and the old pipe organ...

    Paris 24

    Paris 3

even captive spirits are set free with such awesome sights.......

    Paris 23

The only single word I may use will be "charming", charming indeed.  I felt that I found my "prince" in this city...

    Paris 26

A city with character, passion, style and charm....

    Will be back...in God's timing...

"Paris, Je t'amie"    I love Paris !!  Cheers from Cheryl Chan

  • FABULOUS FEBRUARY

    door gift
    (Door gifts for my friends)

Fabulous February for Cheryl Chan of Malaysia or Leeds but not Singapore!!

    BB
(My younger twin brother Charles, miss u Carl who is in Leeds)

My birthday falls on 24th Feb which is very significant to me......The reason I've to identify myself because I am positioning myself with another gal who has the same name in my neighbouring country, attracting a number of seekers mistook me for her.  Sorry guys.

    BICs
(Pretending to be another set of my twins brothers!)

Anyway, this is a Fabulous month for my family because it is also my dad's & mum's wedding anniversary and compounded with many other celebrations.......
    BIC
    (
My brothers from all over the world!! Miss some who are away!!)

    SIC
(Sisters from afar except for 1)

I really wish to take time to appreciate my friends who made my day special.  One of the most exciting birthday wish was to meet someone who was introduced to me about two years ago.  He is from my homeland who is residing in Leeds.  He contacted me by phone upon my arrival in Leeds and seek me out when I had a fall!!  My guidance from my homeland managed to get a stranger to attend to me but I've never had a chance to meet him in person for almost 2 years!!

    With Charles
(Celebrated with my family at one of the hotel in the city)

I headed for home, always wondering how this gentleman would be like in person!!  So I decided to pluck up my courage to invite him to meet with the rest of my friends from Leeds who were visiting during my birthday.  Hey, how about an early Birthday Celebration??

    guy friends
(There were three Johns among the 4 guys I invited!!)

So I made that wishful wish!!  Guess what??  He was NOT ABLE to make it because he had to meet one of his visiting friend from overseas.  Okay, he chose his friends over my birthday which I didn't wish to reveal to him then.

    girl friends
    Some of the gals

So I didn't feel that bad since I didn't reveal that it was suppose to be my birthday lunch!!  In fact, he was back to my homeland for a break & probably could meet him during my return to Leeds which is in July.  My question was, why should I go all the way to meet up with him then??

    Esther & Cheryl
Esther returned from China to celebrate both of our birthday together!!  How sweet!!

    Dave & Aishin
    My friends from Leeds, UK

Then an unfamiliar face turned up for my birthday lunch!!  It was him and his friends were also in the same group!  I could see that he was really embarrassed over the whole episode and he never contacted me ever since. He was so articulative over the phone way before we met but not in person.  I really appreciate all he has done, "looking over" me during my stay in Leeds.  I really appreciate his kind gestures and I know he is not reading my blog anyway.  The thought that counts.

    Daniel

Poor guy, this is a lesson that I have learnt...th_Monkey I should have leave some stones unturned, like the common saying "Curiosity killed the cat"  ......... and let God grant my wishful wish in HIS TIME!!

    cakes
With all the food and the company...he did not seem to be pleased!

    birthday gifts
Some of my gifts were delayed in the post.  Sorry, not in the picture

My appreciation to all who have made my birthday so special.  Thanks for the wonderful wishes, thoughts and gifts.  I am humbled, blessed and honoured.  May God continues to bless my family & friends!!
